Our team is comprised of dedicated students who are passionate about achieving educational equity within our country.
Our Story
The Presidents, Joanne and Angela Park, grew up in Denver, Colorado, and attended a Title-1 school. Upon moving to Northern Virginia, they attended both Title-1 schools and schools in the most affluent county in America. The stark difference they've realized in the resources, ambiance, and students' attitudes between these environments gave them the first-hand experience needed to spark a desire to bridge the achievement gap between these communities.

After being invited to attend a prestigious leadership camp led by General Tommy Franks in which the importance of non-profits in a community was heavily discussed, Joanne and Angela established Level the Field with the mission to help underserved elementary students achieve their fullest academic potential through providing student-targeted resources to Title-1 elementary schools and families.

Level the Field's board consists of students who have attended Title-1 schools, students who are from low-income backgrounds, or students who simply realize the significance that this issue plays in the daily lives of many individuals. Let's meet the team!
